Overview

The Edmond Soccer Club Recreational and Traveling Rec programs are for players under 4 years old to under 19 years old (U4-U19). Younger ages play in our in-house league while Traveling Rec plays at ESC and in the OKC metro area.

The ESC Team4Tots program is for under 4 year old (U4) players and intended to introduce young players to the game of soccer. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches and are encouraged to practice at least once a week with the coach setting the practice schedule.
The ESC In-House Recreational program is for players U5-U10 and all games are played at ESC in our in-house league. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches and are encouraged to practice at least once a week with the coach setting the practice schedule.
The ESC Traveling Rec program is for players U11-U19. Traveling teams typically play half their games at ESC, and the majority of the remaining games will be in the OKC metro area. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches and are encouraged to practice once or twice a week with the coach setting the practice schedule.

All of the Recreational programs are intended to provide players of all levels of ability, and experience, the opportunity to play on a soccer team, and develop through participation in a fun team environment.

Registration

Registration for the Fall 2025 soccer season begins on June 1st, 2025. Fees are as follows:

Tots U4 – Free Registration – $0 for 1st 200 players (June 1st-July 27th)
Tots U4 – Late Registration – $55 for players after 200

Rec U5-U10 – Registration – $110 (June 1st – July 27th)
Rec U5-U10 – Late Registration – $130 (July 28th – August 10th)

Traveling Rec U11-U19 – Registration – $120 (June 1st – July 27th)
Traveling Rec U11-U19 – Late Registration – $140 (July 28th – August 10th)

Rec & Traveling Rec – Waitlist Period – $150 (August 11th – August 31st)

The Registration Fees does not include the required Uniform or player equipment.

(There is a $3 Software Fee to Got Soccer)

The season kicks off on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, so secure your spot early and join the excitement!

Schedules

The Recreational season will be held over eight weeks with games primarily on Saturdays:

Week 1 – Saturday, September 6th
Week 2 – Saturday, September 13th
Week 3 – Saturday, September 20th
Week 4 – Saturday, September 27th
Week 5 – Saturday, October 4th
Week 6 – Saturday, October 11th
Week 7 – Saturday, October 18th
Week 8 – Saturday, October 25th

Any week cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled for Saturday, November 8th and/or Saturday, November 15th.

Recreational Game Schedule Traveling Rec Game Schedule

Uniforms

All Recreational players are required to have shin guards, cleats, age appropriate ball size, black shorts, and black socks. Those items can be purchased at Soccer USA or other retailers.

All Recreational players are required to purchase the official ESC Adidas Club uniform from Soccer USA on Danforth across from ESC.

U4-U5 players must purchase the official ESC Adidas Club uniform. The kit consists of a black/white Adidas jersey, black shorts, and team socks. (Each player must wear the same team socks). The cost for the kit is $45.00. Please ask for the ‘TOTS’ Uniform.
U6-U10 players must purchase the official ESC Adidas Club uniform. The kit consists of a black/light gray Adidas jersey, black shorts, and team socks. (Each player must wear the same team socks). The cost for the kit is $75.00. Please ask for the ‘In-House’ Uniform.
U11-U19 players must purchase the official ESC Adidas Club uniform. The kit consists of a black/white Adidas jersey, black shorts, and team socks. (Each player must wear the same team socks). The cost for the kit is $115.00. Please ask for the ‘Traveling Rec’ Uniform.

You will receive notification when the kit is available for purchase at Soccer USA.

Edmond Soccer Club uses a 2 year uniform cycle working directly with manufacturers and SoccerUSA to provide the uniform kits at a discounted rate. The start of the 2 year uniform cycle is as follows:

These uniform cycles are subject to change base on constraints and manufacturer changes.

Rules

The following are general rules and age group specific information to govern play:

U4-U6 rules – 4v4 – 4×8 min quarters – Size 3 ball
U7 & U8 Rules – 4v4- 2×20 minute halves – Size 3 Ball
U9 & U10 Rules – 7v7 – 2×25 min halves – Size 4 ball
U11 & U12 Rules – 9v9 – 2×30 min halves – Size 4 ball
U13 to U19 Rules – 11v11 – Size 5 Ball
Parent Code of Conduct
Noise Makers: The use of artificial or mechanical noise markers and/or whistles are prohibited for use.
Goals: Soccer goals have caused serious injury and death. ESC maintains a strict policy regarding goal safety:
- Always exercise extreme caution when moving goals and allow adequate manpower to move goals of varied sizes and weights.
- Movable soccer goals should only be moved by authorized and trained personnel.
- For the safety of our members, do not move the permanent goals.
- Do not swing or hang on goals or nets.
- Do not remove goal anchors.

FAQ

Age Group and Birth Year

All Recreational players will be placed by their birth year, (January 1 – December 31) instead of by school year. Please see birth chart below to see which age group your child will play in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026:

Birth Certificate Requirements

All players are required to upload a copy of their birth certificate in their player account. Please login to your GotSport account and upload the document in your account under the “Club Documents” tab.

PLEASE NOTE: If your player does not have a birth certificate uploaded in their player account or have not provided the Registrar with the document, the player will not be placed on a roster until the document has been verified by the Club Registrar.

Coaching a Team

Edmond Soccer Club appreciates all of our volunteer coaches and if you would like to coach your child’s team, please click the “I WOULD LIKE TO COACH MY CHILD’S TEAM” box when you register your child for the Recreational season.

There will be a Coaches Meeting which you’re required to attend. At this meeting coaches will get information regarding the season.

Concussion Policy

Dual Registration

Players ages U6-U10 (boys and girls) can register for Recreational and Academy programs within the same season, with the approval from ESC Administration. Registration fees apply to both programs and there is no discount applied for a Dual Registered Player. Please contact Tommy Hubbard for additional information at thubbard@okenergyfc.org

Goalkeeper Training

ESC will offer free goalkeeper training on Monday’s alongside our Center of Excellence program. If you are interested in having your player join, please contact Tommy Hubbard at thubbard@okenergyfc.org

Lightning Safety

Multiple Player Discount

The discounted registration fee is applied to the third player within the same family and all players must be registered with ESC during the same season. The third player will receive $35 off of the registration fees. This discount only applies to players registered in the ESC Recreational program and does not apply to players registered in the Academy program or with OEFC. In order to register multiple recreational players, a FAMILY ACCOUNT on GotSport must be created and registered within the same session to obtain the discount.

Refund Policy

Refunds will be considered for the following reasons:

Cases of financial hardship
Medical reasons
A player moves out of town.

Any refunds granted will be 50% of the registration fee, plus a $5 service fee and must be requested prior to the season kick-off. No refund requests will be granted after the season kick-off. Refund requests must be made in writing via email, by the parent or legal guardian and emailed to the ESC Registrar at registrar@edmondsoccer.com.

Reschedules

If you need to reschedule a game, please contact the other team and agree on a new date and time (see below for days and times that you can re-schedule a game). Once you have agreed on a time and a date, please contact Gary Boreham by email: gboreham@okenergyfc.org and cc the other Coach. In the email include the following information:

Gary will respond to both coaches once the game has been moved. All re-schedules must be received at least 7 days prior to the original date and 7 days prior to the new date.

Rescheduling Availability:

U4 – U6: Any day at any time
U7 – U8: If you do not require refs then Any day at any time. If you want a ref then weeknights at 6.00 or Saturday’s at 9 / 10.30 / 12 / 1.30 / 3 or Sundays at 1 / 2.30 / 4
U9 – U10: Wednesdays at 6 or 7.15 or Saturday’s at 9 / 10.30 / 12 / 1.30 / 3 or Sundays at 1 / 2.30 / 4
U11-U19: Gary can only reschedule games at ESC, and can’t reschedule games at other complexes:
- U11 – U12 – Wednesdays at 6 or 7.30 or Saturday’s at 9 / 11 / 1 / 3 / 5 or Sundays at 1 / 3 / 5
- U13 – U19 – Wednesdays at 6 or 7.30 PM or Saturday’s at 9 / 11 / 1 / 3 / 5 or Sundays at 1 / 3 / 5

Re-schedules are granted based on field availability and on a first come first serve basis.

Scholarship Assistance

The Scholarship Program was developed to provide players and their families the opportunity to receive a scholarship to help cover registration fees from the club during times of financial difficulty. The scholarship does not cover uniforms, any coaching or team fees, goalkeeper fees, tournament fees, or travel related costs.

Anyone applying for a scholarship must fill out an application every season and if approved, must complete either an online application or submit a paper Registration Form to the ESC Registrar prior to the registration deadline. All paperwork must be submitted by the players parent or legal guardian. The ESC Board will approve Scholarship applications at the monthly board meeting following the deadline at which time the parent/player will be notified by email regarding approval or denial.

Scholarships applications must have a completed USYSA form, a copy of the players birth certificate, completed scholarship application and a free and reduced lunch form from school (if applicable). In order to be considered for scholarship, all documentation must be turned in not later than February 15th, 2024 to the club Registrar. All applications remain confidential.

ESC Scholarship Form

Scholarship recipients are expected to volunteer for a shift during the soccer season and may work any ESC hosted tournament, field days, volunteer days, etc. You will receive an email from Sign Up Genius prior requesting your assistance please sign up and choose a time that fits your schedule.

Team Placement

Players are automatically placed on their previous team if registered before late registration. We will place players based on parent request, school district, neighborhood and/or zip code. All requests should be listed in the “NOTES” section of the registration form. Any questions regarding requests or placement should be directed to the Recreational Coordinator.
